I currently attend Sarah Lawrence College as a Freshman, and this is a great school. However, the only reason I chose this school rather than my top choice (Northwestern, which I was accepted to) was due to money. Northwestern's aid package just wasn't enough, and Sarah Lawrence as a second choice offered me a substantially larger scholarship. Keep in mind, Northwestern is need-blind and does not give merit aid, whereas Sarah Lawrence does.

I regret being unable to go each and every day, and Northwestern just seems absolutely perfect the more I learn about it and the more I attend school here at Sarah Lawrence. I'm not sure what to say in my transfer essays; I've definitely learned more clearly what I want from Northwestern (challenging and structured classes, a professional and practical theatre education, a university experience instead of liberal arts college) but the only reason I'm not already there is money.

So what I'm asking is this: as the single most important factor, should I at all mention money in my essays? This is a new year, my family is in a new financial place and I'm hoping that perhaps I'll be able to swing the finances this time, but it's still iffy. Any advice?
