Northwestern, FinAid, and Transfers

Ok I recall someone saying that Northwestern doesn't offer financial aid to transfer students at all yet they ask "will you be applying for financial aid" on the transfer application. I'm confused.

you are applying there? the only thing they can offer you if you say yes is federal money. They cant offer you institutional money. Thats why they ask...to know if you want federal grants lol, which isnt alot, its about 4 thousand, everything else will be loans.

JESUS! Why do they even ask then? 4k will hardly make a dent. Thanks mojojo. No thanks Northwestern.

well, they * could * offer you institutional money, if they have some...but chances are that due to their retention rate, a lot of freshmans, and um winter and spring transfers, their money will be * really * limited.

Basically, even if they offer you institutional money, dont expect it to be big... I really think that the majority will still be loans.

re:no problem!
