Well, by looking at the average freshman profile stats (3.79UW/4.23W, 31 ACT), you’re definitely above average. Also, ECs look good as well. Though NW may hold international students to different standards, which I’m sure you could easily find through their site, everything seems to look favorable for you.
It looks like you have a very good chance of getting in. Both your grades, and your extracurricular activities are excellent. Good luck!
@ghman98 Those stats, from CollegeData.com, are for students on that website that are interested in Northwestern. It is not a freshman profile. In reality, a 3.79 UW and 31 would probably be too low for actual admissions.
OP, you stand a decent chance, but nothing is certain for a school of NW’s caliber. It’s a reach — make your essays really good.
@BabylonBabylon You’re right, and I stand corrected. It seems to be, according to Northwestern itself at http://www.northwestern.edu/newscenter/stories/2013/05/lets-hear-it-for-the-class-of-2017.html, that the middle 50% of SAT scores for the class of 2017 is 1390 to 1550, which translates roughly to the 32-34 range for ACT. Thankfully, OP is still right in the middle of that range.
Just as an update I got in! Official part of NU class of 2020!
