Police received a call from a man claiming to have shot his girlfriend. Incident was later determined to be a swatting hoax.
I was off campus when I got the first notification, and I’m still shook… everyone on campus must’ve been terrified. We didn’t find out it was fake until 2 hours later. 
According to local news, it appears that the call originated in Rockford, outside the Evanston/Chicago area. My sympathies to all the NU students, NU parents and NU employees who had to endure this.
