I've been accepted to the main arts and sciences college at these three schools. I'm really undecided. Could you please rate these college on the following qualities?
1) academic quality
2) campus setting/beauty/comfortable and etc.
3) admission into grad schools
4) study abroad/internships available
5) approachfulness of professors
6) student life (friendliness of people, social life, etc)
7) programs in pre-med and business (I'm obviously very undecided)
8) prestige (in general)
9) prestige (among academic and professional community)
10) best looking to employers
11) Overall Best
Extra questions: Should Georgetown's lower rankings make any difference at all?
Is the University of Chicago where fun comes to die?
Thanks a lot.

No, if money is not an issue, go wherever you want. If money IS an issue, go to the cheapest one. :-)

Seriously, they are all good schools If money is not the issue, just go to the one you want to go to.

bump! help me please, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Go to UChicago

1)The best undergrad experience out of the three academically.(The princeton review says so)
2)Beautiful campus, neogothic buldings, beautiful dorms.
3)One of the best universities if one wants to go to grad school(especially for hard sciences/math/economics)
4)Idn bout this
5)Most classes are small discussion groups which is what makes Chicago unique and the reason why many applicants are initially attracted.
6)Many people say that Chicago is where "fun goes to die" without ever having attended. I know plenty of students that party 3 days every week and maintain a good academic record. Although the social life may less "loud" as that of other schools, fun most definitely doesnt "come to die" if you dont want it to.
7)Both the med school and the business school(ranked best in the nation) have shortcuts after your third year if thats what you decide.
8)One of the most prestigious universities in the world. Look at any world ranking
9)Held at the highest regard among academics throughout the world.
10)Chicago students are known to have critical thinking abilities that many other "pre professional"-y oriented universities don't encourage.
11)Depends on what you want to do. At the undergrad level, id argue that Chicago has the best program in the country for anything you wanna do. At the graduate level, each university seems to have its specialty(although chicago does excel in most fields)

Thanks, that was helpful. Anyone else have a different opinion?

I'd go Northwestern unless you fit the Chicago mold.

Not gonna say which one is better. But just want to let you know NU has TONS of business-related courses/options outside of their economics department:

Check out the following:

Tubaplayer: You are in an enviable position. Most students would be gratified to be accepted to any one of these three schools. In order to offer worthwhile advice, it would be better to know more about you & your circumstances. The University of Chicago has a distinctive culture which is oriented toward the true intellectual. If Swarthmore College appeals to you, then Chicago is your school. Georgetown University has the elite School of Foreign Service and a spectacular location. Northwestern University has a magnificent setting and may be the hottest Ivy League academic quality institution in the nation. What do you want to study? Do you plan to attend graduate school? What do you like to do? I am repeatedly astonished at the small class sizes encountered, even for freshmen, at the Univ. of Chicago & at Northwestern University. Both universities also have very healthy endowments. Georgetown's School of Foreign Services offers an unbeatable combination of location & curriculum. But you are deciding among three distinctly different campus cultures. Are you comfortable attending class with students wearing business attire such as a suit & tie? Can you accept grade deflation? Quirky, intellectuals? Mainstream preprofessionals?

thanks icy. yeah i feel like i'd be happier at Georgetown or Northwestern, but at the same time, since I'm getting no aid from any of them, I should just go to the one with the highest rankings to make the most of my parent's money.

@ TubaPlayer

Where did you receive financial aid? I wouldn't necessarily go to the highest ranking school or most expensive school. Have you visited any of these schools? All the schools are excellent. What do you plan to major in? If it's a more pre-professional area, you may want to choose Northwestern. Are you a true liberal arts intellectual? You may want to choose UChicago. Do you want to be in politics or international relations? You may want to choose Georgetown. Look at what these campuses have to offer. Choose the school that has the best overall fit for YOU.
