Northwestern vs Michigan for premed

Obviously I'm extremely excited that I just got accepted by northwestern, but my dad just pointed out the fact that northwesterns bio program isn't necessarily better than Michigans (another school I got into). I'm 75% sure I want to go onto med school so my question is which school offers the "better" premed type programs?

I’m sure both are great. Are you in-state for Michigan?

No. So price would be about the same…

Actually nwang, you will find that the cost of attendance at Michigan is ~$7,000/year lower than Northwestern. That represents ~$30,000 over 4 years. This is not much, but certainly worth noting.

As far as academics and medical school placement, I should think the two schools are very similar. Michigan does enroll a disproporionately high number of its own alums in Michigan Medical school, but Northwestern probably is just as well represented in its own excellent medical school. Both universities seem to place many of their alums in top medical schools around the nation.

If money is not too much of a concern, I would go for fit.
