Northwestern

And I am surprised that no one is applying there (that I know of), but the deadline is May 1st. They don't even start looking at applications until then, for those of you that don't get into your top choice.

Enjoy.

i was going to apply there, but i got into washu now :D

heh well that's a better one anyways. No matter how many schools I look at, I'm happy with the ones I've picked and can't really find any others. I guess that's a good sign that I've done enough research.

I am applying there! And I visit Northwestern's campus on Friday or Saturday. Maybe the lack of Northwestern applicants on this webstie is a good sign for me. Go Wildcats.

The bad thing is that they take forever to give you a decision.

I might apply to Northwestern this year. Who knows... I've been thinking about it.

Anyone else applying or thinking of applying?

Are you sure? I thought it was rolling.

For kicks? And if I get in, I would consider it. The closer I can get to Chicago the better.

Lol why Chicago? As in, the University of Chicago? Or the city?

Because Chicago is the best city in the world? :)

hahahaha ok then. I thought that was like Boston or Vancouver or New York, but I guess getting mugged in Hyde Park isn't so bad either.

Nothing is better than getting mugged in Hyde Park. Nothing.

I still might but I doubt it because I believe its high transfer rate is decieving. I don't really have a basis for this besides anecdotally it seems like a very popular transfer destination for people from schools like Cornell, UPenn, CMU, and UChicago.
Furthermore, they do not review your application until after your final term, which for me is June 30th, meaning I wouldn't receive a decision until August, which I assume would present housing complications.
I don't understand why they don't have the application process earlier in the year. It seems to make it a last-choice school for everyone except those who have their heart set only on NU

Also note that NU doesn't guarantee housing for transfers at all and, like most great universities that are getting record numbers of applicants and overenrollment, housing will be very limited and transfers will typically get the butt end. This, in fact, is the main reason that prevents me from applying to Northwestern.

Dude Chicago is ridiculous. Have you ever had pizza there?

Never been.

Perhaps we shall take you.

Northwestern=love

I'm applying but I am worried that if I get in elsewhere and find out may 15th for those schools that I won't be able to wait for NU to tell me their decision

You can try asking them to expedite their decision.

"Furthermore, they do not review your application until after your final term, which for me is June 30th, meaning I wouldn't receive a decision until August, which I assume would present housing complications."

Are you sure they don't? I remember it being like that last year for me but that was only because I didn't have the minimum amount of units to be eligible when I applied, so I had to wait for the end of my 2nd semester. But as long as you are over the minimum credit requirements, then I don't think they wait for your term to be over.
