Is NU even recognized worldwide?

Not Harvard, Stanford, or Oxbridge of course. But fairly recognized in the world of finance/management consulting due to its highly ranked MBA/econ programs.

All of the Chinese and Singaporean students I know say it's known very well in East asia (if only for Kellogg).

Times Higher Education

Ranked 29 by Times Higher internationally with a 68 score from international students.

In addition to Northwestern's international recognition in economics and business (Kellogg) its reputation in journalism (Medill) and communications (School of Communications) is unmatched. The new Education City in Qatar will house a school that represents a Northwestern (Medill/Communications) mideast branch campus.

Qatar's Queen visited this year. It was pretty cool- it was during my fraternity's philanthropy, and the day before her visit a bunch of secret service agents came through with a bunch of very, very well dressed Arab men. One came up and talked to us, and bought a $1 water. For $100. Good people, them.

LMFAO. Lol $100 for a $1 water? Richh....However. In reality, they spending the money their profit from our dependence on oil. So its like a "its our money in the first place." shoot.

More like, "here's $100 dollars for curing cancer." "Oh, are you thirsty?" "Sure"

When I had a hard time to decide between Duke and NU, my cousin who's a Harvard MBA graduate now running his own hedge fund company convinced me to take NU instead of Duke due to it's renowned business and Economic program which is well-known here in HK. It's joint EMBA program with HKUST (HK University of Science and Technology) is ranked number one in the world, beating U Penn, Columbia and other world renowned institution.

what are emba and hk?

Hong Kong and Executive MBA.
