I grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and attended elementary school there. For middle school I moved to Oslo, Norway and am starting my senior year of high school this year. A couple years ago I started dancing, and in Norway you start choosing your major when you start upper secondary school (equivalent to american high school) so I choose dance. My classes are regular academics and arts classes such as jazz, modern, ballet, drama, choir group and so on. Since I have family in LA I would like to go to college here and have been looking at schools such as AMDA, Berkeley, LMU and so on. In norway the grading system is different so it goes from 1-6 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_(education)#Europe) and I'm at a 4.6 but I will be able to pull it up closer to 5.0. I don`t know what this is in a GPA.

In dance classes my grade is around a 5 because I am originally a hiphop dancer and got into the school with no knowledge of ballet, modern or jazz. Now I am one of the top in my class but I have bad ground technique (especially in ballet) but I am taking classes for this. I am a very fast learner so that helps but I am afraid I wont be able to compete with those that have been dancing ballet and jazz for years.

What are my chances in getting into a college that gives a good education in dance? Is it hard to predict since my dance audition will have a lot to say or will my grades weigh a lot more? Thank you all so much for your time.

Also I dont do any afterschool activities except dance... but I feel like everybody in the us does extra stuff, but I dont even know where to start!
