Nor the Asian symbols.

):

Nor the Asian symbols.

):

Are you sure?

All Chinese are Asian.

Huh? I thought all Asian were either Japanese, Chinese, Islander, Korean, Arab, or Russian…

^ most Russians live in European Russia, so not usually
And what about Indians?

Its sad to see how many people believe “Asian” to be Japanese pop culture. We learned in geography that Asia included India, the middle east, and a large chunk of Russia. But like what other ppl have said, Russia is considered European because most of the population is within the european continent side.

I don’t think people don’t realize that there area asians who aren’t chinese. America just isn’t known for it’s political correctness :D

Duh, I hate generalizations. There’s a lot of Chinese people, but they’re forgetting about all the other asian groups.

All Asians are Chinese. China is the continent. Asia is that huge country that makes cheap stuff.

Well, the vast majority of Asians are Chinese, so it’s almost safe to assume that an unidentified asian is chinese (at least in America). India not included, I think it can be referred to as South Asia along with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka.

I KNOW RIGHT.
What about us Indians? We are almost the same number as the Chinese, and will surely outnumber them in the coming years (considering their one-child policy).

I have a feeling that whenever caucasians say the word ‘asian’, they always visualize people with epicanthic folds >_<

In fact, Asia, the continent has most number of absolute people living on it. Over 3.8 billion! Being Asian does not stop with China, Japan and Korea -.-

what’s worse is when people ask me if I eat noodles, sushi, and fortune cookies every day. seriously.

Aznpridebeaches

@Tizil7 I thought China’s one child policy stopped in like 2004?

Nope, the one child policy still exists.

you know what’s really bad. referring to everyone on the Indian subcontinent as Indian. and people actually believe that

You know what’s bad? How kids at my school automatically assume if you’re Asian, they you’re Japanese/Korean. Just goes to figure… :P

First, what the hell are Asian symbols? Do you mean characters? If you are not Asian, and you’re calling the characters that some Asian languages use “symbols,” then I’ll just take you as ignorant. But if you are Asian, and consider characters to be symbols, then I have a word for you too.

Agree. However, the whole notion of a separate European continent is ground not in geography but in Eurocentrism.

First, you need a course in demographics, and second, you know what they say about people who A-S-S-U-M-E, R-I-G-H-T-?

I agree with alot of the responses on here. Alot of other nations like India, Pakistan, the whole Middle East, kazakhstan, etc are ignored. However, they are part of Asia!

Also, there is no real line seperating Europe and Asia like the other contitents. Africa by med sea, North and South America at the tip of Mexico, and Australia and Antartica all by their selves. Europe and Asia though are one large land mass reffered to as Eurasia.

Physiographically, it is a single continent. The concepts of Europe and Asia as distinct continents date back to antiquity and their borders are geologically arbitrary.

It still exists but it isn’t enforced as strictly as before.
Do you all realise that the term “Middle East” is a Eurocentric term? It should be called Western Asia.
