Okay, so I've been going back and forth lately at the thought of applying early action or not. I desperately wanted to get into Yale and understand my chances of entrance are better during EA. So if you don't mind, I don't want a chance, but just a recommendation for early action vs. regular decision for Yale. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/953637-chance-me-ivies.html

BTW, some stuff has changed since I posted my stats last, it is as follows:
AP lit exam- got a 4, not a 5
I got the job at the grocery store
for NHS, I'm trying to get a habitat house built and some other major fundraiser stuff
Plan on taking AP Spanish exam (though my school doesn't offer the class)
very good chance of picking up German as a third language

Well, without an SAT score and such a low ACT score, I don’t know if I can fully chance you yet. Also, the stuff you added above are mostly just plans (except for the AP score and the job you got), so that doesn’t really help much.

As for your EA vs RD question, I think once you raise your ACT score and take the SAT, I could more fully chance you. If you DO get in the 2300s like you hope for, then I would definitely recommend EAing at Yale, since that’ll prove to Yale that you really want to attend the school, thus, solidifying your chances of an acceptance. But, if your SAT score isn’t in that range, try to ED somewhere less competitive (either Cornell, Brown, or JHU).

Chance back, please: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/954953-am-i-right-track-chance-me-ill-chance-back.html :)

I see no advantage to applying SCEA. This is not an opportunity to get in with lower stats. The acceptance numbers look so high because this is when they accept almost all of the athletes, legacies, staff kids and the very connnected.

Thank you very much. I realize that my ACT is not the best, and have been studying hard for September to roll around. I’m anticipating a 34+ this time around. BTW, what did you think about my ECs?
