not getting into med school?

If you fail to get into pre-med.. can you reapply later? how long do you have to wait, and where do you go to school for that one year?

i was just wondering. i'm not failing or anything.

Before you ask these types of questions you should:

1) learn appropriate terminology

2) somewhat understand the process

3) start college

Fail to get into pre-med? What does that even mean? Do you mean medical school? If so, you can reapply the next year and the next and the next etc. if you wish.

Where do you go to school that one year? If you fail to get into medical school you can possibly do a post-bac program if you would like to continue to take classes and possibly raise your GPA.

You're not failing huh...

While jack is being rude, his key point is valid: it's unclear what you're asking.

What is it with high schoolers posting in sections designed for college students? I recommend the "high school topics" section.

lollybo she can place her topic where ever she wants. no matter what grade she's in... this is not ur website...if she's in pre k and has a question she can post it here if she wants to

Lollybo stated "I recommend the high school topics section". (S)He never mentioned that the OP did not have the "right" to post here. The only point that he/she was making is that this is not the best place to create threads asking questions that are perhaps premature for her current position and level of understanding of the premed process.

Also, to BDM and the OP, I did not intend to be rude. I am sorry if I seemed that way.

Is there a particular problem with a high schooler being interested in what happens to college students that don't get into medical school on the first try?

Are you sure that's what she's asking?

I think the OP thinks that you have to perhaps first be accepted as a Premed student and you are later accepted as a Medical student. But I really am not sure what she is asking as well...

The pre-med topics forum is designed for college students to discuss being a pre-med, the application process, etc. I encourage high schoolers with an interest in medicine/health to pursue premed information; however, the information in this section may not be appropriate for questions such as the OP's. Uvajack and BDM's responses are to be expected for these kinds of questions.

It's a little confusing, but I took the "fail to get into pre-med" as a typo. I think she meant to ask what happens when you fail to get into med school. I think the rest of her post is consistent with that.

While the OP sounds clueless, I think the topic is appropriate for this section as she is asking about what to do if she doesn't get into med.

I like fried chicken sandwiches.

Me too. But no mustard for me, yuk.

Sorry. That's what I meant.

A number of things can happen. Here are some scenarios I've observed with friends, family, and my fianc

Can you stay an extra year at school? haha. by school i mean undergrad..

That gets complicated. If you've already graduated, then you can just take extension courses. Otherwise, I can't think of any ways to stay a student full-time. Any ideas on this, everyone else?

Well, it wouldn't be a good idea unless your GPA was the problem. Otherwise, it'll vary from school to school, but most private institutions aren't going to complain about taking more of your tuition.

UCs, on the other hand, are more likely to tell you to find a new place to study and live.
