I was about to email my interviewer to schedule a meeting together, but I wasn’t given his personal email. I am supposed to contact a prof from a nearby university but instead of the giving his actual email, my.mit gave me an @alum.mit.edu email (I’m not adding the begginging part just in case it happens to be his actual email, but I severely doubt it). Before the @ is just a random word that doesn’t indicate that the email goes directly for him. Any suggestions on what to do?
Anybody have this problem too?
Yep, I am an EC (interviewer). I use my [xxxx]@alum.mit.edu account for interviewees. Most EC’s do. Rest assured that these e-mails go directly to us. In terms of what to do, you write to him or her at the address you have been given and arrange your interview.
It took a number of weeks for my son to get contacted as his interviewer did not check her alum email frequently. Then she wanted to meet the very next day. So be prepared!
