Not having an interview with a college but marked as "important" on common data set

Unfortunately, I will not be having an interview with a college that marks the interview as “important” on their CDS. I am at the 75th percentile mark for their ACT and have a high GPA. I have also visited the campus and have spoken to my application reader. How much will not having an interview hurt my chances?

Did you turn down an interview offer? Bad. Or did they just not offer you one?

@TomSrOfBoston No; applicants sign up online. I looked online in early November to sign up for one, but there were no more available (the last one being in mid-December). The school also says that they recommend an interview.

Perhaps email your rep and ask if there is still any possibility of your getting an interview – if all the slots are filled ask if there is a waiting list in case something comes up.

@happy1 yes, I did that. Still waiting on a response.

Do they offer alumni interviews?

@halcyonheather yes, but only to out-of-state applicants, of which I am not one.

Thanks for the help guys! But I’m still wondering how much this will influence my admissions decision.

None of us works for admissions in whatever school you are referring to so nobody here can answer that question with any degree of certainty. At this point you have done what you can by contacting the admissions officer and demonstrating interest that way. It is out of your control at this point and simply put it is not worth spending time worrying about something you can’t control.
