I know this sounds really lame, but do they? Because I'm bringing a fancy new all-in-one HP Officejet, and it looks like the only place I'll have space for it is on top of the microfridge unit, which directly faces the entrance door. I know I always hear of laptops being stolen in the rooms, but do printers? Mind you, this will be an all-in-one. Haha, thanks!

I've never heard of a laptop being stolen in a room. And I've definitely never heard of a printer being stolen.

I don't think it will really matter as long as you and your roommate lock your doors. I would think that printers are not a popular choice among thieves as it is more difficult for a quick sale, so keep that in mind. I feel that most people won't "upgrade" printers mid-year, while people might get new computers if they find their old one from home a bit slow or something.

not to mention it's a lot harder to hide a printer - if you're fast you could stash a laptop in a backpack or something, but not your average printer :)

I've never heard of that happening.

you should still be cautious, and lock your doors

I think the general rule of never leaving your belongings unattended or unsecured applies here as well. :D

LOL dont tell me you will be standing next to your printer 24/7.

Anyway always lock the doors from the inside and carry keys with you. It becomes second nature very fast. This way you wont accidentally leave the door open.
