My school doesn't have any honors classes and very few AP classes. I'm taking as many APs as I can but U'm afraid the lack of AP classes will look bad on my transcript. Any thoughts?

Same boat here. My school has three APs. I took comm. college classes in addition to all of the APs I could – I’d recommend doing something similar (if not necessarily comm. college classes) to show that you’re doing all you can.

So long as you exhaust all of the options available to you, the fact that your high school doesn’t have a lot of APs won’t prevent you from getting into the college you want.

Colleges say that they look at how many challenging courses (AP/honors) have been presented to you and how you took advantage of those opportunities. If your school offers only two and you take both, that’ll look good to them. I know this because that’s what every single college said when I went on a college tour, haha.

They look at what your high school has to offer and what classes you’ve taken out of those. They won’t punish you for something that wasn’t in your control. Don’t worry.

I only had 2 AP classes in hs!!! Don’t worry. Just take the hardest classes offered to you! You’ll be ok. :)

As long as you have an accredited high school your fine… My high school just got AP classes this year and I’m a senior so I’m taking all we have which is two. However we have a huge honors program and we have college credit classes run through the high school you can pay for, for college credit. When you apply to college the college gets a course syllabus from the high school showing all classes they have to offer. From this they render if you have taken the most rigorous ciriculum.
