I just realized that not many people have been deferred at all this year. I think only about one or two here on CC. No one was deferred at my school; they were either accepted or rejected. One of the theories circulating around my school right now is that UF might be planning to choose the last spots from appeals because those students are the most determined to get in and have a very high chance of actually coming. I know this is an extremely unorthodox procedure in college admissions, but from what I'm seeing right now, it's semi-believable. Does anyone think this could be the case? Just wondering......

could be. i know appeals is close to no chance but it could be that the admissions office has smartened up and decided that those who pursue UF will actually come and be more a part of the university and dedicate themselves. the office could see these students as a better asset to the school rather than kids who are deferred and are just waiting on a decision. march 3rd and beyond well find out.

given UF has accepted students for January 09. Would those accepted students be moved up to a summer or fall start date and given priority over a student who got in on appeal

most of the people who got differed are out of state
