Not possible to switch into capped major?

Hi everyone,

I was admitted into Marshall with the major “undeclared - social sciences” however I want to switch into a Bio major, which is capped. I tried calling the admissions office to ask about this, but the conversation was rushed and cut off and all I got is that it would most likely not be possible. Is this true? Would it be almost impossible to switch into a bio major? If yes, this would most likely mean I will not be going to UCSD since I won’t be able to study what I want.

Thanks for your help.

Found a little information here, which you probably have already seen, which says you can submit a change of major request one day after fall enrollment, or later, using the Major/Minor tool on TritonLink. They say it is first come first served until the numerical limit is reached. It doesn’t really have the information you need, which is how likely is it that the request will be granted with things the way they are.

@BunnyBlue I am not the OP, but thank you! I thought I was going to need to compete for a spot. Do you know when the first day of enrollment is?

@Dawg619 I find it confusing, but from this page it looks as if enrollment for new students begins 8/22.

@Dawg619 This page explains what enrollment and registration are:
