So I'm currently at BU and am a freshman. I really don't like it here at all, and am highly considering transferring. I was actually enrolled at University of Richmond before, and was wait-listed at BU and got off of the WL and unenrolled from URich for BU. However, now I realize I did a terrible job in choosing where I'd go to school and realize I would love Rich.
It got me thinking that when you transfer, they make sure your old school guarentees you can return, and would that work with my situation as well? Would Richmond consider me to be elligible to re-enroll since I was once enrolled?

technically you were never enrolled.

Even if I deposited and everything?

Yeah, because you were never actually “enrolled”. If I’m correct, most colleges determine that right before the start of the fall semester.

Most transfers are not guaranteed to be able to return to their original school. Why don’t you just call up R, tell them your situation and ask them?

I thought one of the requirements for transferring is to be able to return to the old school? And yeah I will soon, I just figured I would ask first and see if anyone had happened to have been in the same situation as I before

No. To be able to return, you’d have to apply for leave of absence, but that is usually not done when someone is transferring.
