Weird Question

If somebody were to transfer from one college to a new one, but found that it wasn't any better or didn`t like it as much as hoped, is it technically possible to enroll back at the original school? Or are there rules that once you transfer out, you cant go back? I know that seems crazy, but just wondering

well they won't just let you back in...although in my exit interview for my school, the guy asked if i was going on academic leave in which case i could enroll back in the school at a later date...but i dont think i could have put myself on academic leave at one school in order to test drive another school...so probably not...maybe you could apply back in for xfer like everybody else

When I left the University of Maryland for a community college back home, I technically didn't "transfer out" I just sent my official transcripts and stop registering for classes and signing up for housing/dining. Some random advisor there said I could always just come back and start classes again whenever I wanted.

Technically, once you go to a college, you're pretty much a permanant member. I don't see why you couldn't go back to a college you transfered from! You aren't really obligated to stay in a particular school unless you sign up for classes or housing. And even then, you could just drop the classes and not live in the housing assigned to you, though you'd still have to pay for it, and that would be pointless..

permanent member? no. most schools make you fill out withdrawl forms for the school so that you are no longer a member...

You can reapply for the school you originally were enrolled. Someone at my old universiyt, the University of Tampa, did it. You have to reapply (be readmitted) and explain why you left I believe. It is up to your school. However; don't rely solely on my word. Call the school's admissions office
