I just took the SAT twice and the ACT once May/June/June and got pretty good scores on both. However, I haven't received any email/mail about any offers or gotten any of the college junk that everyone at school told me filled their mailboxes. I think I might have checked the box that said don't receive mail. Is there any way to reverse this or am I just not waiting enough time. If anyone could tell me when they received any offers that would be a big help too.

You don’t need to get any of that junk email in order to find a good college for yourself. Go back to the very first page here at CC, and follow the link to the college matching search engine. Click the appropriate boxes for the things that matter to you, and you will get a set of colleges and universities that might match your interests. Then read through their websites, and send an email to the admissions offices and/or department representatives and ask your own questions. If you need more ideas than you get from the CC search engine, then run College Navigator and the search engine at the College Board website.

After you find a bunch of colleges that interest you…go onto their websites and sign up for information - your mailbox (snail mail) and e-mail box will be full in no time!

My son checked the box to receive info. Now his email account is unusable, filled with spam. You did the right thing!

I have to agree with MisterK. Be proactive and find colleges on CC or Collegeboard that match your interests and desires in a school and then request the information. My son’s list evolved over the two plus years he searched. Very little of the mail that came had any influence.

I don’t know what kind of “offers” you think you should be getting. I don’t think any colleges are going to offer you anything based on your scores other than invitations to apply, which mean next to nothing–you don’t need invitations, and your applications will be judged on all their elements, just like anyone else’s.

MommaJ is right…

you would just be getting junk mail advertising their schools…not “offers”

Ok guys thanks for all of the help I really appreciate it. I guess the “offers” that my friend, who is a senior, got were either after applying or through a separate process.
