not-so-steller gpa; don't know where to apply!

<p>I'm going to be a senior in the fall, and I have just started to look at different colleges. I'm really confused as to where to apply to; there are so many choices in-state (Illinois) and out and for one thing I don't even know what kinds of colleges I can get into.</p>

<p>Here's my record, and I was hoping that somebody could suggest some colleges and tell me realistically where I could possibly get into...thanks.</p>

<p>weighted gpa: 5.36/6 (I MESSED UP)
unweighted gpa: 4.6/5 :(</p>

<p>ACT Composite: 34
ACT English: 36
ACT Reading: 36
ACT Math: 34
ACT Science: 29
ACT Writing: 9 (out of the possible 12 points)</p>

<p>I'm also planning on taking SAT subject tests in the fall and hopefully doing well on them.</p>

<p>I'm not sure exactly what my class rank is at the end of junior year but I know I'm in the top 10%
By the end of high school (so including senior year), I will have taken 10 AP classes (1 sophomore year, 3 junior year, and 6 senior year).</p>

<p>My extracurricular activities are:
-Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper senior year; News Editor junior year
-Vice President of Spanish Club sophomore and junior years; elected to be President senior year
-Emergency Room Volunteer Receptionist at a local hospital; award for completion of 300 hours
-NHS and Spanish National Honor Society member
-Track Team member freshman and sophomore year (could not continue because of an injury)
-ASA Oxford summer program during the summer before my junior year; received A's in both of the courses I took there
-District Leadership Conference attendant</p>

<p>Right now I'm considering the in-state schools:
Northwestern
University of Chicago
Loyola University in Chicago
University of Illinois</p>

<p>I am also going to apply to UIC's guaranteed admission into medical school program. </p>

<p>Out-of-state schools that I am considering are:
Purdue, Cornell, George Washington, Boston University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Michigan, John Hopkins, also:
Michigan State, Miami University, and Wayne State guaranteed admission into medical school programs. </p>

<p>Could I realistically get into any of these (especially the guaranteed med school ones)?</p>

<p>I know my gpa will hold me back, but does it seem as though my extra-currics will as well?</p>

<p>I know I have chances, but I don’t know where exactly, which is what I’m trying to figure out.</p>
