Not sure what to do, Im miserable here

I go to school near my home and at first i thought it would be nice saving money and being able to go home whenever. I've been here three semesters and though i like the people this place in general just bothers me. Its so hot, no life in the campus, and its in the middle of a big city. I feel like when I'm here i can never relax its too stuffy and maybe i need somewhere near the beach or at least a little more open(again big city with nowhere to go). I also know i've been down since my girlfriend left to college, but that doesnt mean i cant be happy at another college.

-My major is uncertain but i am leaning towards Economics, my gpa is about a 3.55 so far and i am currently at a STATE school. I know the odds of transferring are slim and now that i've been here for 3semesters I cant transfer as a CC student even if i went to one. So my questions are:
1) If not all my units transfer from this school does that mean i can still be a CC transfer?
2) Should i just stick it out here for the next 2-3years? (again just miserable here)
3) Any advice on how i can transfer or any ideas please let me know!

I just want to be happy with where i am and right now its hard with my girlfriend being far, classes being boring, and just being miserable at my school in general.

-I apologize for the complaining :/

About transferring units, I think you need to go to your college advisor and ask how many are likely to be transferrable and whether or not you can attend a CC.

Going to a private or out-of-state are likely to be considerably more expensive than at your in state public, and it sounds like you’re trying to save money. Is there another school in your state system that you could transfer to where you could live on campus? Though it will cost more, it is likely to be less than the alternatives, and it will hopefully give you a much better college experience.

It’s OK to kvetch here on CC, and it’s OK to want to be happy in college!
