Not sure what to think. Help please?

Hi,

I have been considering applying to some selective schools such as Lafayette College, Davidson College, and Hamilton College. I know it is pretty hard to get into schools of their caliber, so I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what they think of my chances.

I am finishing my junior year at a pretty well respected high school and have a cumulative GPA of 3.93, (I got a 4.0 during both semesters of junior year). My most rigorous courses this year were AP U.S. History, AP Biology, and Honors English. I plan on taking 2 more AP courses next year. I got a 2020 on the regular SAT, with a 620 on the Math Level 1 subject test and an 800 on the U.S. History subject test. I have a successful record as a debater, and will start my third year as co-captain of my school debate team next year. Also, I am a member of my school's National Honor Society, for which I volunteer at my local charity center once a week (I started volunteering early this year, and will continue until I graduate).

I sincerely thank anyone who is willing to take the time to help me out on this.

You will want to retake the SAT to be a strong applicant to Lafayette, Davidson, and Hamilton. A 2020 is pretty good, but if you retested and got a 2150 your chances go up quite a bit. You might want to take another SAT II so that you can score higher than you did on the Math I exam.

If your ECs are as good as you say they are then I think you stand a good chance with slightly improved SATs.

If you apply ED to one of those schools your chances will also increase dramatically.

Hey, thanks. I am scheduled to take the June SAT, and definitely plan on studying hard for it. Thank you for your input.
