Not taking AP tests after being admitted.

So I have 4 APs this year and I just got into Georgetown EA. Awkward thing is three of the tests will only get me elective credit which I don't need (I plan to take a lot of language classes to use up all of my electives). Is it a cause for alarm if I don't show up for 3 of my tests?

I doubt they would care as long as you still got a good grade in the class

My school forces us to take our AP exams if we enroll in AP classes

You’re lucky if you can skip haha

Well yea my school says YOU MUST PAY AND TAKE IT

but my tests are paid for and they can’t stop me from being sick…

I doubt they will care. They’d probably be happier for you to take classes (and pay) at the school, than come in with many AP credits and possibly graduate early!!!

You don’t have to study, but it seems like a waste to not take them. If you decide to switch majors, for example, those credits could serve a purpose, but they won’t care at all. You took the class and were graded.

While you may not “need” the AP credit, you may actually want it since many schools schedule registration dates for classes based on the number of credits you have.

So, while all incoming freshman are on equal footing because everyone registers at orientation, after that, you may be at an advantage for having those AP credits. It may make your registration date and time earlier than your fellow freshmen. Registering a few days earlier may mean getting that last spot in the class at the time you want versus being waitlisted for a class.

You won’t regret taking the AP’s and having extra credits, but if you don’t take them, there is a good chance you may kick yourself later on…
