I'm a junior and I am currently in pre-cal. I am actually doing quite well but I don't think I will be able to handle (or do that well) on AP cal. And I really am not interested in stats. So would not having math all four years affect me into getting into a good college? I will be taking four years of science if that matters and am taking three AP's currently.

Do you mean an in-state college? That shouldn’t hurt you.

I wouldn’t take four years of math if it weren’t required. It began with my grade. -__-

Well I live in california so it wouldn’t affect me if I wanted to apply to some UC’s? What about the ivies?

You’re probably not going to get into the ivies without four years of math.

If you want to go to an Ivy, I would absolutely recommend that you take 4 years of all core subjects, including foreign language and math.

In NO way am I Ivy material, but sometimes you just CAN’T. I begged to be put into Spanish as a freshman, but it was full.

Alternatively, you could take a finite math course at your local CC during the summer… if your school allows it, of course.

Well, I am a senior currently not taking a math class.

I’ll tell you what happens in the admissions process. I applied EA to my state flagship, and two other colleges. I find out mid-December. Emory and C of William & Mary are my highest schools, though I find out in April… we’ll see.

@Emory I’ll be interested to see where you get accepted…good luck!
