Please let me know what i can do to have a better chance in getting in becuase I know it is very completive.
Name a few colleges that I have a few chance for.
Thank you.

Your GPA is okay, try and find your percentile rank from your school report for a better idea though.

Physician shadowing and any sort of research would help your medical ECs.

A 1350 CR+M is very low. Unless you have an instate program that’s very easy to get into, I think you’ll struggle as a result of that score. You pretty much need to retake the SAT for a good chance in my opinion. Also, you’ll need to take 2 or 3 subject tests.

Neo, I’ve actually heard that BS/MD programs don’t care if you’re instate or not. It doesn’t help in anyway.

Some public university programs require that you be instate or specifically say they prefer instate on their website. UConn gives preference, some of the NY ones are instate only. Some are rural and instate only too IIRC.

is a 1420 low for the SAT I? (for ‘top’ tier as well as ‘lower’ tier)

For top yes, that is low. Places like TCNJ want a minimum score of 1480.

What are some lower tier BS/MD programs?

In the Northeast, I think AMC and Drexel are considered easier, but even a 1420 CR+M is a pretty low score for them. Really 2200-2300+ is what programs are looking for. Not all programs superscore, but even if they do, it just means their averages will be higher. Look at the stickies stats thread to get an idea of which SAT scores are competitive.

Yeah I know i’ve got to improve my score. I got a 2200, but the writing is what held up my score.
