Note to all ED 2013 Hopefull Folks

YES we are terrified with ED 2012 results
-BUT we will not be discouraged. (Although I found 4 people
with similar stats like that of mine who had been all rejected…)

YES not all of us have the typical STELLAR CC’er Stats with
UBER EC like “I cured cancer because i was bored”
-BUT we got to be worth more than a piece of paper with our
grades down if we are so eager to come online and freak out
for countless days like a bunch of marshmellows sitting by the
campfire. I believe in a 7:3 Enthusiasm: Meritocracy

YES we are going insane
-Can’t help you there. If you read my description above you
should by know realize that I am already there.

I guess I forgot what issue I originally intended to address…

is it finals already for some of you?
my finals won’t be around until end of january. but either way, i’m hardley getting enough sleep these days…like yesterday when i went to bed at 5 writing my term paper.
and cornell’s not helping by making me wait so longg for the decisions!

Where is this magical Class of '12 ed post? Do i even want to look /sighhhhhh/

You really don’t want to look… but it’s on the first page of the 2013 Early Decisions thread.

ahhh my poor class’s decisions. everyone was at first being accepted (this was RD, sorry), and then it all went downhill. ED I remember everyone was rejected, but then some acceptances came through. Lots of deferrals…
I just got my GT application today!
With Cornell being on my mind right now,let me share something with you guys:

I have been applying to Cornell since September of 2007. I was deferred, and then ultimately given a guaranteed transfer offer. At first, I felt rejected and had to consider things for awhile. My major is not very common, and the school I am now is known to be in the top ranks of it. But I have a gut feeling that I am supposed to be at Cornell, so I decided to go through with the application. I worked really hard this semester, harder than I probably would have otherwised, and am aiming for a 4.0 this semester. If you are accepted, congratulations. If you are rejected, there is a better path for you! Even if you do not believe it yet. And if you are deferred, like myself, stay positive and keep hope. Take everything one day at a time and live the journey. If you are destined to be a Cornellian, you will get to Cornell one way or another (it just might not be as convenient as you hope). If not, there is another school out there for you! Don’t listen to ranks or “ivy-league” crap, it’s not about that. Honestly, I’m at a 3rd tier SUNY, and I love it. I just don’t feel like I’m meant to be here. Go with your gut, and don’t go nuts. It’s just four years. A school’s name does not get you a job. The experience you have, the people you meet, and the person you become at the school get you a job.
Best of luck to all of you!

Thanks, grantortue! You’ve been a Cornell “wait-ee” for a long time… I hope you love Cornell when you get there!
I really hope I get in ED, but if I don’t it’s not the end of the world. No, I may not get my Ivy League prestige crap, but I didn’t apply to Cornell because of that. I truly love it, but if I get rejected, it just means that I wasn’t a good fit. These next three days are going to be HELL, btw.

Me have no cal-lidge to turn back to if Cornell no likey likey me. O wel…

There are always opening in the factories…
