Nothing can save me now

Oh well, all the test centres for the nov and oct sats are full...there's nothing i can do but take the dec and jan ones, in which most schools don't accept...sigh...do you guys know any schools which do actually accept the dec and jan scores??????

If you are interested in Harvard, there is good news. They accept even Dec or Jan testing.

Check with your colleges, let them know the situation. Some will take the December test. All is not lost.

are you sure that ALL test centers are full? you can even take them in another country if you need to

Just drive an hour or so if you need to. Some people drove 4+ hours and stayed in a hotel to take the September ACT in a different state.

There are open spots SOMEWHERE, I don't know where you live but if you can drive and do the hotel thing you can take the SAT/ACT. Also, I think the Dec test is fine for many schools, the usual reg decision deadlines are 12/30, 1/15 or even 1/30.

Why did you wait so long? Didn't your guidance office remind you to sign up?

^seriously. You may have to drive to some HS in the middle of nowhere, but it may well be worth it. ROAD TRIP!!!

On the other hand, it may be useful for you to wait and have a few months extra to study. I don't know you, so I can't say.

make SURE to take the december one. most if not all colleges accept the december one, but january is a risk.

Do standby.

Do standby, and optimistically prepare to get in. I've heard that in general, people do get in who do standby testing . Of course, go early so you are first in the standby line.

S took the testing standby and got in. Unfortunately, he didn't follow my advice to count on getting in, so he didn't bother prepping for the 3 (!) SAT IIs that he took, and his scores were far below his potential.

Do not skip standby and assume that you'll get into the Dec. test date. Things from winter storms to flooding at test centers to prospective test takers' getting the flu have been known to prevent students taking the Dec. test date. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.

Both my sister and I got standby testing the two times we signed up for it. Do that or drive far. Most schools accept December, though.
