Notification Date **CONFIRMED**

I wouldn’t say 2+ weeks ago: that was when the tracker first came up, and notifications were going around, asking people for their missing materials.

My guess is that they finished last week, and by tomorrow they would have weeded out the last few people. Then, between tomorrow and next Thursday they’ll work out the letter/other technical stuff.

Well, I said the majority. I think its safe to say those with missing materials were a minority.

the number of applications decreased? by about 500?! that’s a significant drop… i wonder why… do you know for certain? most of the other top schools with ED got more applications than they did last year.

I’m in a weird situation because Cornell is technically not my first choice… but I have my reasons… we’ll see! 8ish days!

how do you know how many applicants there were???

Cornell was a weird choice for me. My first choice if you had asked me, say, 6 months ago would have been a school like Davidson or Claremont McKenna (both small LACs with good social science programs, nice campus atmospheres AND in warm weather areas). But I really love the ILR program and the ILR school. I also like the idea of going to a school that’s only 90 minutes from my house in PA, even if it’s still in the cold, dreary northeast. Visiting Cornell also helped push me towards ED. First off, the campus and Ithaca are beautiful. It’s probably the nicest I’ve seen in the country and I’ve seen a lot of colleges (I live in a small town with a fairly prestigious and pretty nice looking LAC right in the center). Secondly, despite not being totally cool with going to such a large school, I loved the diversity of programs that the school offered and the different kinds of people they attract (I was kind of amazed, I’ve always been interested in cities and their makeup…and when I found out I can take classes and even minor in Urban Planning in AAP [or for that matter, just about anything I can think of in any of the colleges] despite being an ILR major, I was pretty intrigued). I’m still excited about Davidson and Claremont McKenna and a whole lot of other schools, but Cornell is my clear top choice. Oh, and the awesome financial aid (NO PARENT CONTRIBUTION!!! LOLWUT?) didn’t hurt either.

SO NERVOUS

Good Luck guys last years Cornell ED thread looked harsh

Did it? When I looked through it, 2/3 people got accepted, 1/6 got deferred and 1/6 got rejected or so. Of course, most people who got rejected probably didn’t post, but still.

Last year’s ED also shows a huge range in the accepted-applicants’ SAT scores. Some people with 19XX got in while a few with 23XX got rejected. Quite random…I suppose “fit” is a major requirement

it also depends on how many people from one’s school apply
