Notification of UFE

I know I PMed you, but I’ll put it on the thread

The interview was done by Dr. Morgan and 2 fellows(Jill and Austin I think)

I was nervous, but I just was honest with all their questions. If they don’t like me for who I am, then oh well!!! I think it went well

They said we’ll know within a week

Ahhhh!
I’m so nervous–I should be getting the call before 8!

Rocket, what type of questions were asked?
I haven’t memorized statistics or the names of the buildings or anything like that, but I am really interested in the UFE program!

It was pretty basic, although most of my questions were based off my application. so it was definitely a very PERSONAL interview. There were some basics(why Bama and such) but the rest was based on essays

Don’t worry…it wasn’t bad…it was quick

I haven’t memorized statistics or the names of the buildings or anything like that

LOL…they aren’t going to ask anything like that. Relax!!!

And let us know how it goes!!! :)

^^actually…there was a short quiz on every major Bama landmark ;)

haha, I know it seems silly, but that’s my greatest interview fear!
Of course I’ve done the research before applying (and especially before applying to prestigious programs!), but I’m always so freaked out that the interviewers will throw out curve balls like “So, have you decided which residence hall you’d like to live in?”

Nope…the one girl did ask me about my tattoo(I wrote about getting it illegally in my one essay) She seemed really interested in what in meant to me…

Like i said…it seemed like they really wanted to get to know you

I’m still waiting on the phone call.
The email said it should take place between 6:30 and 8! I hope they haven’t forgotten about me, haha

Reminder: The time is CST, not EST

She’s probably on the phone right NOW!

Mmhm, well, I live in Louisiana, so I’m under CST as well.

I’m sure that they’ve just run late with their phone calls (after all, 7-10 minutes is hardly enough time to get to know someone, especially all the amazing students that will be considered for UFE), but the knee-jerk reaction is paranoia and uneasiness.
Plus, I have a conference call at 9, so I’m reallyyy hoping that they don’t run too late!

oh goodness!!! I wouldn’t worry until 830

This is getting kind of ridiculous.
I made sure to clear my schedule for the suggested time frame, and I expected they might run a bit off schedule, but almost half an hour is a bit much. I’m helping to lead the call, so I certainly cannot miss or be late for that.
And I’ve triple-checked to ensure that I gave them my correct cell number, that my confirmation wasn’t weirdly worded, and that I have the home phone-line clear and right beside me just in case…

^^hmm…this is odd…
please let me know how it goes

mom2collegekids, do you have any idea why the delay or any suggestions for what I should do?
I’m running through disaster scenarios in my head, so I really hope everything is okay at the office…but I won’t be able to keep waiting by every phone and media source possible for long.
Could they really have just forgotten about me or changed their minds?

i doubt they would have changed their minds

Update: I just gave up on waiting, and I’m now getting ready for my conference call.
I left Wellon a quick voicemail explaining my situation.
Who knows what happened there. It is kind of a let-down because I psyched myself out for it for about 3 hours, and it didn’t even happen, no explanation given.

They haven’t changed their mind about YOU!!! :)

They may be running late and calling the EST kids first (because it’s getting late for them).

While you’re on your conference call, will your phone indicate that it’s busy or what?

and they were so prompt with me…they said between 6 and 730 and my call came at 620
