Notify College of National Merit Scholarship?

<p>I just received the $2500 National Merit Scholarship. Should I notify Ivies about this today(i.e. Harvard, UPenn, Princeton)? </p>

<p>I’m in the same situation. is it worth telling the ivies and other competitive schools like JHU about it? Or is it probably too late and they’ve made up their minds about admissions results?</p>

<p>yes, let them know. It certainly can’t hurt, and schools like to say they have x# of National Merit Scholars…</p>

<p>hmm, that may be a problem. The young man I know was accepted after the waitlist very shortly after telling a certain school - which was his first choice. That may be the difference…</p>
