I am totally shocked! I didn't even know that universities paid for you to come visit (INCLUDING AIR FARE), with the exception of great athletes! I am flying up on March 31, and flying home on April 3rd. I believe applicants are to receive acceptance or denial letters the first week of April. I hope I am right, but I just can't imagine Notre Dame spending the money to fly me there to visit and "not accept me!" The letter stated that they are confident that after I visit that I will choose Notre Dame! I didn't even feel my SAT's were that outstanding! What do you think? Since they are spending the money on me to come visit, do you feel that I am accepted?

Maybe they want to reject you in person…

JK That would be incredibly harsh

seriously!!! Give me your opinion, PLEASE!!!

You got accepted! Congrats!

OH, I SO HOPE SO! Notre Dame is without a doubt my dream school! Thank you!

You’re in. Just out of curiosity, are you a minority or legacy?

Definitely a legacy! I am from North Carolina as well!

They better treat my kids as well as you.

You’re in! They did this for my friend’s S last year. You should know, however, that the visit is no indication that you will receive merit $. Friend was pretty upset that they only offered S 1K and no FA but since that family makes ~200K I don’t think they should expect FA.

I’m shocked…with a 2080 I’m surprised of all the applicants they picked you…Did you cure cancer or something? I don’t mean to be offensive but it’s just a surprise.

Wow, that’s awesome!

Clearly they really wanted you, and perhaps legacy also played a role.

I wish I were courted like that by my first choice!

Don’t get your hopes too high up yet. Two reasons: 1) I just saw a topic about a person who was surprised after a college paid for them to come in, then rejected them. 2) It would suck if you were rejected… after fully expecting an acceptance.

That being said, your odds DO look good.

Such as:

Teacher recommendations, Extracurricular activities, employment, rigorous high school schedule, leadership, GPA, class rank, essays, clubs, awards, etc.

Just thought I would let you know that!

Congratulations, you’re very very likely in!

It is nice, isn’t it? :)

Just want to say congrats, that’s great!

congrats, you should definitely consider Notre Dame because its awesome :)

For Reilly weekend?

My daughter received her acceptance letter from ND on 3/28 - they were all mailed on 3/25. She is not a legacy, but I believe we were told @ 1/4 of the incoming freshman class is. ND is a fabulous school - I’m sure you will love it if you haven’t already visited. My daughter had many very good offers from top schools but when she received the ND letter her decision was made!
