Also applied to UMich
Lol we all did the exact same thing
@DryMango great minds think alike, or we’re all naïve. Who knows
Is there a consensus regarding which part(s) of the application Notre Dame places the greatest importance on? Of course, I know that ND is very holistic (as most incredibly selective universities are), but I was wondering if they give more weight to the subjective or objective parts of the app.
Good question^^^
@HamletTheDane @DryMango https://www3.nd.edu/~instres/CDS/2015-2016/CDS_2015-2016.pdf . Page 7. Rigor of classes is most important with everything else equal and second to rigor.
@kaileeko me! i’m so anxious to find out - mid december can’t come fast enough
@HamletTheDane I heard that it’s grades and GPA - but again that’s standard for most colleges.
@as1799 Very helpful link!
Can I ask how you found it? I’m interested in seeing the same kind of info for other schools particularly Cornell but for others as well.
Thank you.
edit : found it, google searched “common data set cornell university”
@as1799 so first choice is what ND?
@Seacoast Michigan but I definitely won’t complain if I get into ND
Is this the main Notre Dame 2021 discussion? Are there any others? I’m having some difficulty finding a very active Notre Dame thread. Some of the other schools boards are on fire, but this thread seems pretty quiet. Am I missing something?
I meant for REA.
I have a 30 ACT and applied for engineering… have a 3.98 UW GPA with 7 APs (had a B+ in Biology in 10th grade). High level leadership positions and ECs… do you guys honestly think that I’d have a legitimate shot at not getting rejected in REA? I have expressed a ton of interest as ND has been the dream since I was little. Btw, I have POWERFUL recs
Yes, this is the only ND Discussion thread. Unfortunately it’s not very active haha.
Where else have you guys applied/are going to apply?
Boston and Georgetown
Yeah I thought this was quiet as well so I started a RD thread here…nada! Too funny. Others I am on are about 10 - 20 a day.
Decisions coming out soon so everyone is anxious 8-} [-( @-)
Macho taco, I honestly don’t think anyone is a “sure thing” at ND. Your ACT score is really going to hurt you. My guess is that you will be deferred to regular decision. Once there, I think it’s 50/50 for you. Don’t underestimate transferring after one year though. With your strong grades and rigor, plus powerful recs, you should do well and could prove to them that you are up to the level of ND students. It’s sad that the ACT seems to matter so much, but sadly it does. I have a friend’s son right now with a 32 and everything else amazing, and they are very worried. Best of luck!
I agree with the above post. And that score matters A LOT in the EA round. Seems like they are looking for top quartile for scores during EA. But you really never know and if you are deferred that might help during the RD round. My daughter is so nervous and she is in the top quartile with her SAT scores (she took the old one).
