@aspen22 thank you for replying. Sending positive energy and prayer to your son.
Right, I think itās just what they do to let you know theyāve got everything they need from the applicant.
@suzy100 thank you!! D has done evyrhing she can do. In the end she decided not to take the ACT again. D said when she hit send it felt good and was at peace with everything she has done these last 3 1/2 years. Couldnāt argue with that and I decided to let her make this decision.
@aspen22 and @HM0527 would you mind sharing from whom the email came? Was it signed by regional rep or by the Dean of Admissions? Thanks in advance.
@HM0527 Ok thanks. I didnāt get one yet, but will keep checking for email from Mr. Bishop.
@RFM1617 Iām sure youāll get one soon. It was not from Mr. Bishop. It was another DOA. Best of luck to you!!!
@HM0527 Good luck to your daughter! If I may ask, what was her ACT score? Did she not look into the SAT as well?
@NotreDame21 thank you and yes of course. She earned a 32. Not ND āscore materialā or so Iām being told on CC but she felt at peace with it. D is a dedicated student 4.0 UW 4.3 W and a devout servant to God. Valedictorian as well or should I say as of now lol I pray that her meaningful service throughout her life will shine through on her app and her recommenders love her so Iām hoping they wrote letters that reflect who she is. Holistic means holistic and I am going to keep believing ND looks at everyone that way. I see you are a sophomore. Kuddos to you for being so interested so early. One little piece of advice, please enjoy your high school years. Theyāll go by in a flash!!! Thank you again for your best wishes.
@HM0527 Yeah! They sure do go by in a flash! Haha. Iām glad you noticed I was sophomore. Trust me, Iāve started too many threads of my own looking for great tips and advice. I appreciate yours just the same. As for your daughter, instill in her a calming peace of mind as well as, and most importantly, the presence of the lord our god. Remember, our destiny and path of life rest in his hands. Once again, good luck to your daughter! Donāt let her lose hope even if her stats may seem rather daunting to her or other posters. I wish her the best! Sheās got this!
@HM0527 Oh yeah. I almost forgot. Iāve actually gotten to know/see one applicant in particular who applied (and got in!) to Stanford with similar stats compared to your D. Specifically an ACT score of 32. So remember, she is definitely in the running! Especially since the application process is a holistic one as a whole. Good luck to you and your daughter once again!
I LOVE all the positivity on this thread. Even if I am rejected (I have a 33 ACT but a low 3.6 UW/4.4 W GPA) I honestly hope all of you (and your D, @HM0527 ) get in. Wishing peace for all of us over this stressful month!
@bachbend thank you!!! Isnāt refreshing to see positive replies and support??? I wish all the best and Godās graces on you.
Just as an FYI, my daughter applied REA a couple years ago (class of 2022) and was deferred to Regular Admission and got in.
@COSpgsparent thanks for the encouragement. Do you mind sharing your daughters stats?
I canāt remember her GPAā¦pretty high, but not ridiculously soā¦32 ACT, Class President, lots of leadership in clubs, founded a philanthropic organization that gave a few thousand dollars to local charities, no legacy.
@COSpgsparent thank you so much for replying. I really appreciate it. Our daughter would love to be a part of the ND community. So we wait and know that if itās doesnāt happen, God has another plan.
Except by asking Admissions directly, is there a way to find out how many students applies REA to ND this year? Thanks.
@katrina1 Idk but Iām guessing about the same amount as last year? It doesnāt seem to fluctuate too much? Hopefully someone answers with better knowledge. Do you have a child that applied EA?
@katrina1 My best guess would be approx. 7,200 ND REA applicants, +/- 100. Official number with additional information will be posted on or around December 11th. Best of luck!
