Does/Has Notre Dame announced the stats for EA this year? i.e. how many applications vs. how many accepted? Have they ever said how many EA's that are deferred are ultimately offered admissions during Regular Decision?

this answers all your questions

I really had no idea that ND typically Denies that many applicants during the EA process. I would have thought it would have been reversed to have 900 Denied and the rest deferred. Does anybody know if this if fairly typical of the highly selective schools or just a Notre Dame thing?

I believe it’s fairly typical @MidwesternHeart

I would say that it was unusual ten years ago to reject so many, but it is becoming increasingly typical. The change is due to the huge numbers of applications received during Early program periods.

If recent history holds true, ND will admit roughly 1,800 - 2,000 more applicants during the RD round. It would be cruel to defer 3,000 applicants from EA when so many of them would be denied. Even with only 900 deferrals, only about 100 of these applicants are likely to be accepted.
