Does anyone know about these Christmas cards? I haven’t gotten a letter yet, but I received a Christmas card today. Did they send these out to every early-action applicant?

@amdgoh I’m glad to hear you got in - we’re still waiting for the Pony Express to make it to South Florida. Nothing today - again.

I am also in south Florida and have not received a letter. Two people in my area got letters yesterday: one deferral and one denial.

My niece also received a Christmas card today from admissions but still no letter. Nobody seems to know what this means. I guess the question is “did anyone receive a Christmas card and also get a rejection letter?”

Congrats to all that have been accepted! My son received a deferral letter last week and he has NOT received a Christmas card so that may be good news for those of you who got a card and are still waiting for acceptance letters. Good luck! We are keeping our hopes up until spring.

No letter (or card) again today.
Weird.

We got acceptance letter on Saturday but to date still no Christmas card. Who knows whats going on with the USPS.

markbr…it has to be an acceptance packet. I have to believe a smaller envelope would have reached you by now. Good Luck!

I was deferred and did not receive a Christmas card if that helps anyone. Plus, I’m from Chicago so if they sent cards to everyone, I probably would’ve gotten mine already, so a card could mean good things for those who haven’t received letters!

I’m in south Florida and I still haven’t received anything at all :(

Hello everyone. Sadly, after all my hard work for the past few years, I was rejected from ND. I really though I had a good chance of making it, but I guess I just didn’t have what it takes. However, I am the type of person to never give up. So, I plan to reapply next year as a transfer. It’s not what I was hoping for but I will try again. Does it matter what college I go to my first year? I was planning on going to Boston College or Case Western (accepted into both) and then transferring into ND after my freshmen year. Do you guys think this is a possibility? I just can’t give up on going to my dream school and the school that feels like a second home after having been 3 times.

Gus1996 you should absolutely try to transfer sophomore year if that’s what you really want to do. My son did not get into his first choice university but they were willing to work with him on a transfer plan (they counseled him on classes he should take freshman year, approved his final schedule, and gave him a minimum GPA to work towards). I would contact someone in admissions and talk to them about it. At the end of the day though you may end up loving BC or Case Western so much you don’t even want to transfer.

@gus1996 Sorry you didn’t get into ND, but you should never feel that all of your hard work in HS didn’t pay off. First of all , you should never allow the decision of one admission’s department change your perception of yourself, an secondly tons of students would stand on their heads to gain acceptance into BC and Case Western so congratulations are due. It is time to move away from ND – your dream school should be a school that is eager to have you as a student and as I said earlier, you have some great choices.

If you decide to pursue a transfer to ND at some later time, that is your decision, but I’d suggest that you start college with enthusiasm and with the expectation of staying there four years and then just see how things play out.

Anyone in south Florida get a letter today? sorry for your frustrations, gus1996.

ND admissions just posted a note on Facebook stated that they will be continuing to send our notices to EA applicants through the end of January. Not sure waft that means to those who have still not received a letter. You may wish to check it out on FB.

Oh! That Facebook post is not very comforting! Thank you for telling me about it. Good luck to all!

I don’t understand that FB post. Is this different from what we expected or did I just not understand the way ND was handling early admissions?

It’s different. My understanding from the confirmation email they sent when I submitted my application was that they would send out ALL early action notifications by December 20th. I have no idea when or how that got extended

Mail just came. Nada! Still waiting in south Florida.

Also in South Florida- and once again, nothing.
