So, jtombar1, admissions is lying when they said the letters didn’t go out yet? I don’t see where you would be getting your information.

I just would like to again point out that ND has always sent all letters at the same time regardless of admission decision or region.

Jtombar is correct, that’s when letters were received last year. However, this is this year, and the letters have not been sent yet.

In December 2010 my son received his email on Saturday, December 18th as an international student which I believe was a couple days after they were mailed out. He was deferred but ultimately was accepted regular decision and is currently a junior. Last day of finals is Friday so I’m confident they will be out this week as the Admissions people would like their Christmas holiday too!

I have two sisters at ND right now and they’ve been hearing around that they won’t send out decisions till later in the week…

NOOOOO D:

ND is probably going to be the last EA/ED school to send out decisions. Of the universities listed on CC’s top universities page, only UChicago, UVA, and UMich haven’t sent decisions out yet

jtombar1, I live in eastern Indiana and I have a friend at ND that I used to send letters to at the beginning of the year, and the letters always took 3 days to arrive. Are admissions decisions typically on a faster schedule?

Well UVA will most definitely be the last to send out EA decisions because they randomly tell you in late January

Called the admissions office yesterday. Apparently international applicants will receive an email and a package in the mail by the 20th at the latest.

This speculation is ridiculous. The admissions office said point blank that letters are being mailed the 17th (tomorrow). Instead of comparing patterns from previous years, it’s a better use of all of our time to believe what the admission office said.

After the letters are sent on Tues, they will arrive in Chicago/South Bend Area Wed. I don’t know how long it takes in other regions, as I live in Chicago. I would assume everyone else will be within Thurs-Fri.

I hope so! Im in Texas, which might take 3-4 days. Im going out of town Friday night so if it doesnt come by then I’ll have to wait at least a week to get it!

Waaah, I’ve seen people posting about calling the admissions office and asking then to give you the decision after they send out the letters if you are out of town.

Well actually some of my family will be at my house when the letter should get there. However, I want to be the first person to see the big/small envelope. I want to open it myself first. If I get deferred/rejected, I don’t want everyone else to know before I do… that makes sense right?

Does anyone know if they will give you the decision verbally or by email if you’re out of town? I’m in the same boat but I don’t really have anyone who can open mine.

Yeah just call ND Admissions, I think they’ll be fine telling you.

@DrewBreesus: did they say anything confirming letters would go out today?

Sorry, I thought you said “just called admissions.” Nerves are making me see things.

Since there’s no tweet about ND mailing the letters today, should we assume that the letters won’t be getting sent out today?

In the past, the tweet has come in the afternoon/evening… On March 21st they tweeted at 2:06pm that Regular Action decisions were in the mail… Last December 13th, they tweeted at 4:59pm that Early Action decisions were in the mail.
