I’m not trolling at all. My friend is a freshman at Notre Dame and he said we should expect to hear Monday or Tuesday. He’s family friends with someone that works in admissions office. He could be wrong but at least that’s what I’ve heard from him.

Sorry – also nothing personal, but I don’t believe this at all. If the letters had gone out Friday, at the very least those living in the South Bend area would have likely gotten them on Saturday. How likely is it that NO ONE got a letter yet, even those living in the area. (And if anyone had heard, this board would have lit up…).

Also, ND has a history (as I’ve said before) of telegraphing on social media when the letters go out. I am highly, highly doubting this story.

Proof or don’t post

Just as SuzysMom said, I remember last year when Notre Dame posted on Twitter and Facebook the day that they put the letters in the mail (and then we all made sappy, nostalgic statuses). I’ll let you guys know if I see anything from ND’s official Twitter or Facebook, but until then, just trust what the admissions office told you. I know the wait seems awful right now, but believe me, senior year really does start to fly by. Just sit tight and try to be calm. Best of luck to you all!

Are we sure they’re going to post it on their twitter page? Last year at about this time ND Admissions was posting like crazy, but this year there’s nothing.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for all the information!

Expatla, you’re absolutely right and I’ve wondered about this off and on myself. I have a feeling we’re going to know for sure when somebody on CC posts that they got their letter. Both my daughter and I have this page bookmarked and will be obsessively refreshing.

Curiously, BU said they would have decisions up on Sunday (the 15th). Low and behold, they were up at noon on Friday. No warning, nothing. Not that there is any real connection, but I can’t help but hope that this might be the same way…all of a sudden, the letters will just “appear.” :)

I have a feeling this page will be a source of comfort for the next however many days it takes for decisions to come out!

Results are officially mailed out on Tuesday! so depending how far you live from South Bend.

How do you know for sure?

@waitingisntfun my high school counselor used to be an admissions rep at ND (and he attended ND), so he has close contacts with the reps there (mostly with the rep from our state) anyways she emailed him saying that/or called him… not really sure but not that it matters. Either way thats what he told her and he told me because I’m 1/6 that applied from my school, and I go to a very small prep school so we have a lot of access to our counselors and they’re very helpful. Unless she lied to him or they decide to email it earlier/later due to other circumstances that’s the date they have.

gfdxfd54: Thanks for that information! I hope it’s true!

@freckles12 well i can assure you that I did in fact hear that information, though since it was through my counselor and not straight from the admissions rep I can’t be 100% sure, but I see no reason why my counselor would want to lie to me (he is in looooooooveeeee with notre dame). But anyways I’m as nervous (maybe more nervous) then everyone else here. Hopefully they come soon and we’ll all be able to relax :)

For those international kids, I just called the admission office. If you are not living in the USA, you will get an email with your status.

Go to ND Admissions twitter page: updated just now with this Tweet:

“Still on track to mail EA decisions this week. #ND2018”

My hair is turning gray.

@Suzysmom I just saw the same post, I can’t wait to finally get the decision

Me too…I’m kind of losing it…lol. I’m having a hard time concentrating at work. I don’t know how my kid is doing it trying to take midterms!

So does this mean they already sent out all mails or still in the process?

@Janicelin This means that the letters have not yet been sent.

I think it’s interesting that they said that they’re on track to mail them this week instead of saying they will mail them tomorrow. It sounds like there’s a possibility that they won’t be mailed until Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.

I’m sure I’m just being ridiculously optimistic, but I honestly believe they will go out Tuesday. In recent history on social networking, ND doesn’t post anything until they are almost ready to send out the letters. I believe they will go out on the 17th.

Wishing good luck and hoping really hard for all who applied early! Have been through it with ND twice, the wait is painful for the kids and families, especially when it gets down to the last few days!

West Coast should get their letters tomorrow or Wednesday. I got mine the 17th of December 2012, so plan for tomorrow. For those in the Midwest, letters were sent Friday/Saturday. South/Texas area should be around tomorrow or maybe some came today.
