Soon I think. Are you guys east coast or west coast?

I’m in the Midwest.

I am East Coast in VA.

It appears that in last years transfer thread the calls were made during the last week of May.

I think College of Science kids heard earlier. Is everyone arts and letters on here?

Yup I’m arts and letters. Hopefully I can be an anthropology major!

I have a question for you guys: I just said I wanted to major in anthropology. So first semester I took a lot of classes that were challenging and fit my major, and I did quite well (3.64). Second semester, I tried to knock out some of ND’s first year requirements. Now, my overall GPA is just a 3.4 (second semester was like a 3.1). Not so great, I know. But that was largely due to the math and science classes I took (calculus and biology), and they have nothing to do with my major. I know if I wanted to transfer and major in some kind of hard science or engineering field, I’d be in deep trouble. But since I showed I can do A level work in anthropology-related classes, do you think my lower second semester GPA won’t hold as much weight as the first? I really hope they don’t look at my overall GPA and go “ha yeah right” and rip up my application.

Oh man, that’s tough. I mean there’s no way we could predict what would happen, but logically I think they would take that into account!

I am still shocked that no one has heard anything on here yet. Not sure if that’s a good or bad sign :/

I think the people who have been admitted contingent to taking a summer course or two will hear back this coming week.

How will they treat those of us who will submit our grades sometime this week? I am assuming that I do not have to take a summer course for Notre Dame but what if I do? Will I not be notified in time for me to register for a summer course?

Do we need to send a transcript to admissions of our final grades this semester or is it fine to only email an unofficial report?

You can just email an unofficial one, I just asked last week.

You will only be delaying your final decision if you don’t send a final grade report. From admissions.nd.edu “A final Grade Report for the current term be forwarded. Emailing your Grade Report to transfer@nd.edu will ensure a timely final review of your application. Please be aware that a decision CANNOT BE MADE without final grades from your most recent semester. An OFFICIAL transcript including final grades for courses in progress MUST be sent as soon as it is available.”

Well it also says “An unofficial Grade Report for the current term should be emailed to transfer@nd.edu as soon as it is available, typically the week after final exams. The subject line should read: “Final Grade Report _ YOUR FULL NAME”. Please be aware that a decision cannot be made without final grades from your most recent semester. An official transcript including final grades for courses in progress must be sent as soon as it is available.”

So email an unofficial one ASAP, but make sure to have an official one sent as well.

I’ve got another question: So my school grades on a scale where instead of an A- or B+, it would be an AB. And instead of a B- or C+, it would be a BC. So I got an AB in one class and a BC in another. However, I was assured by my professors that they would transfer as an A and a B, respectively. That would change my GPA up. Would Notre Dame take the GPA as it was calculated by my current school or since it would accept the A and the B, would they calculate it to fit their own grading scale?

No clue. Call Admissions and ask

Yeah, sorry for the big questions. I just figured if there was anyone on these forums who knew the answers, they could step in and answer. I’ll save them for admissions next time!

I’m starting to get real anxious to hear back

@ioioioio I feel ya. I have been trying to imagine how I would ever prepare myself for a rejection letter from ND.

Of course, I have fantasized a billion times my victory party by the mailbox if one day I open it to find a big fat c4 envelope from ND just waiting inside for me.

I still can’t believe no one has heard anything! This is crazy! I wonder if this is any indication of how many applications they received?
