Hello everyone! I am starting the annual thread for all of us Notre Dame transfer applicants (Surely I am not the only one out there!). Good luck to all, and lets try to make the wait as painless as possible!

hey shawshank,

I’m right there with you. how do you feel about your chances?

Hi irishtransfer13.
It is good to see that I am not the only one out there. I am relatively confident about my chances, but as the old saying goes: “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.” What about you? How do you feel about your chances?

And on a side note, did you get a confirmation email stating that your application is complete? I never got one, but I am not even sure if I should expect to get one.

About the the same as you. I feel good about my shot, but I know a lot of it depends on how many applicants there are and how qualified I am compared to the rest of the pool. I’m just trying to keep my grades up through these last few exams.

I did receive an email from the Common Application that my Common App was complete, but I never got anything from Notre Dame. Now that a week has passed since the deadline, I plan on calling the admissions office tomorrow to try to confirm that they’ve received everything they need. To the best of my understanding, they typically only send out emails when they are missing something in the application, but for my own peace of mind I’d like to get a confirmation.

Do you have any idea how the admissions stats break down from college to college within the University? I know what the averages look like from the website, but they say that transfer admissions are handled independently by each college, so there could be a significant deviation from the average based on the college you are trying to get into.

I am not sure what the admissions rates are for each individual college. All I know is that College of Engineering and College of Science applicants tend to hear back earlier than College of Arts and Letters applicants.

Hey, I just got accepted into the College of Arts and Letters today and I wanted to give you my stat sheet so maybe you can get an idea of what they’re looking for.

-3.4 High School GPA
-4.0 Collegiate GPA (Clemson University, South Carolina)
-Honors College at Clemson
-Rigorous Liberal Arts Course Load (34 Credits)
-English and Philosophy Major (PLS and English Major at ND)
-2270 SAT (800 Critical Reading, 740 Math, 730 Writing)

Congrats irishtransfer!! That is so awesome! I have a couple of questions for you.

Is your spring semester over/ did they have your final grades when they made your decision? Did you have a 4.0 both semesters? How did they notify you?

hey lolo90,

Yeah, my spring semester ended on May 5th, and yes, they had my unofficial final transcript. I had a 4.0 both semesters, and they called me because they wanted to make sure I had time to register for a class I need to take before I start in the fall. Good luck!

irishtransfer13
Congratulations! My last final isn’t until June 13, so I will not be receiving my decision until the middle of June. It’s going to be a long month for me…

@irishtransfer13
OMG big cong!!! How long it took for you to receive decision letter after sending your unofficial transcript? I just sent in yesterday

Is it from mail or e-mail ? Ohhh sorry I asked a lot. just too excited so happy for you

Thanks and good luck, shawshank!

allisonian, no worries, I understand haha. I sent in my unofficial transcript in a few weeks ago, but I’m not sure what the turnaround time on that is because I was notified on May 15, which is the day they start making decisions. They called me to make sure that I was enrolled in a summer class I have to take, but they said I’ll be getting a packet in the mail soon too. Good luck!

Anyone else got an admission result recently?

I wish. The suspense is killing me

Proud to say that I’ve just been accepted to the college of science!

Nice job man, see you at orientation! Did you get a call or have they started sending letters yet? Someone told me they didn’t start sending the official packets until June 1st, but I don’t know if that’s flexible or not.

Thanks! I got a call. I have yet to receive anything in the mail, have you gotten anything?

No, just the call haha. They wanted to make sure I knew I’d gotten in so I could take a summer class to knock out one last First Year requirement for transfer. I’m sure they’re just waiting to send the packets, but I’m still gonna be a little bit jumpy until I get something in the mail.

I got into the college of arts and letters today! Got a packet in the mail. Gpa 3.93 from a top private school. So happy!!

I was accepted to the college of sciences last week! I got a call and then received my packet 2 days later. I’m still waiting for my financial aid though, and that’s the deciding factor. I’m nervous!!!

Hey, just got accepted to the college of engineering yesterday. 4.0 GPA from a regional state school, 1460/1600 SAT
