What are everyone’s stats? High school GPA, college GPA, sat/act, college extracurriculars?

Highschool: 3.74
ACT: 31
College: 3.64 from UW Madison (after this semester it’s probably going to be more like a 3.55 but I took hard classes at a good school so hopefully they’ll take that into account if that’s even something they do).
Extracurriculars: Boys and Girl’s Club volunteer, Jazz band, various community service projects through music.

I think that strictly based on my college GPA it’s going to be a challenge to get in. I’m extremely nervous about hearing back from ND but I’m hoping for the best!

High school: 3.9 UW, 4.1 W
SAT: 1360/1600, 2040/2400
College: 3.53 (3.3 Fall Quarter, 3.75 Winter Quarter) from UC Irvine
EC’s: College: Society of Physics Students, Women in Physics
HS: Cancer research, hospital volunteer, KIWIN’S leadership (kinda like Key Club), Engineering camp, worked at local tutoring center, Science Olympiad, Confirmation retreat leader at church, Yearbook & Literary Magazine editor

Applied for International Econ in Arts and Letters. Like Tfer14, hoping and praying for the best.

Any legacies out there? I have a cousin that went there so I put her on my application, but I don’t think it’ll have much weight.

I sent in my spring grades on Friday. The rep I talked to at the admissions office said that no decisions will be sent out before June 1st but she was really vague.

The only legacy that has any bearing in the Notre Dame decision process is a parent. Not even grandparents or siblings carry any more weight.

That’s what I figured. I swore I’d never do this, but…does anyone think I have a chance? ((pretty sure I’ve got all the first year requirements))

I think it’s very hard to tell. The admissions office looks at so many different factors in the decision process. My daughter just applied for transfer admission to Arts and Letters and my son graduated today from Mendoza so we are familiar with the ND admissions process but we still have no idea what her chances are. Her HS GPA was 4.3, she had a 30 ACT, her college GPA is a 3.7 and has been named to the deans list for both semesters. She is actively involved in Notre Dsme Special Olympics, Notre Dame Habitst for Humanity, South Bend Center for the Homeless, Riley Children’s Hospital, along with some athletic clubs as well. It’s hard to tell if it’s enough because their applicant pool gets stronger every year. I wish every one of you the of luck.

*best of luck

I sure hope you do, since we have kind of similar GPAs from similarly ranked schools. I hope the admissions department takes into account what schools applicants attended. UC Irvine is a great institution already (based on what I know about it) so I think that the fact that you’re preforming well there could have a positive impact!

Thanks man, I really appreciate the positivity :)

How much do you guys think other factors will influence the admissions decision besides college GPA? Extracurriculars, high school GPA, ACT/SAT scores, reason for wanting to transfer, essays, class difficulty, etc? I’m getting my grades back now from my spring semester and although they’re still pretty decent for college (B’s, A-'s) they’re nothing like the grades a lot of you guys are getting. :/

Only two more weeks or so until we start hearing from ND!

I really don’t know. I think a lot of it has to do with fit - i.e. how well the transfer committee thinks you’d fit at the school based on what you write in your essays. I also think high school plays a bigger part than people make it out to, because I’ve seen kids on here that get 3.9 GPAs in college with the right first year courses but don’t get in because their test scores and high school records aren’t that great. So in essence, don’t give up hope! You really never know what they’re looking for.

I also just found out yesterday that my spring transcripts won’t be available until June 23 Really worried about that.

This wait is horrible… Wait listed at another school and really holding out for Notre Dame. I wish someone would hear something…

Honestly I really hope not many people applied this year. Wait listed and rejected from all my other schools so ND is my last hope. ND is my top choice anyway. I will probably go paranoid if I don’t hear back in the first week of June. I will run home from work everyday that week I can already see it.

I feel ya You can always call and ask how many people applied, I’m not sure if they’d tell you though…

If someone called and asked, they would be my hero. I would feel bad bugging the admissions department more after all the stuff I’ve done this year already. Plus I’m scared to know, really. I’m incredibly nervous and unsure about my chances but we should all try and stay positive!

So apparently ND calls you if you have been admitted to make sure that you have enough time to enroll in a summer course if you are missing one. I wonder if they also call you just to let you know you got in…

Do you know when they’d be calling about the summer courses?
