I don’t think anyone has posted a thread on this so here it is! Please leave comments or questions so we all could discuss about it and hopefully help each other!
A little info about me:
Currently a freshman in a quarter-system university
Considering Computer Science at ND (Question here: is transferring to their engineering school THAT hard?)
Applied to ND for first year but rejected
Question: the ND website indicates that they “receive over 800 fall semester transfer applications for roughly 150 transfer openings.” Does this mean that they accept 150/800 applications, or is the acceptance rate higher than that?
Thanks. The reason I ask is because according to this website (http://transfer [no space] web. [no space] com/stats/transfer-acceptance-rates/#.WE7oNKIrKCQ), the fall 2012 transfer acceptance rate was 37% and I find it hard to believe that the acceptance rate decreased 20% over the course of four years.
Good luck everyone! i’m hoping to transfer as a psych major this fall just getting on writing on essays. Just to make sure, there’s a total of 2 right? one for the common app for why you want to transfer, and 1 supplement for ND.
So does anybody here know what a typical transfer’s application looks like so I can assess myself? Also, does anyone have insight to what ND is looking for in essays?
@bbnugent i’m not sure where you saw unofficial grade report. an official grade report is due when you have all your spring semester grades. hope this helped
Does anyone know if it is okay to mail my Transfer College Report instead of emailing it to the Admissions Office? (My current university only has the mail option)
Also- the email that I just received from ND Admissions (confirming that they’ve received my application) says that “Recommenders should email letters to ndforms@nd.edu with the subject line “Letter of Recommendation_YOUR NAME””. If my Common App page says that ND has already downloaded my recommendation letters, can I just ignore the whole email thing?
The last bullet in this list says “unofficial grade report” but ALSO mentions a final transcript, so I wasn’t sure if they were both necessary. Thank you for the response!
I would assume that the unofficial grade report is needed for evaluation in case there is any delay in getting your final transcript sent/mailed. Final transcripts are absolutely necessary.
Does anyone know where to find a course equivalency chart or some way to see if Notre Dame will accept a class from another school? I’m taking a class over the summer, and I want to make sure it’ll transfer to Notre Dame before I sign up.
you need to send the syllabus of that course to your admissions officer. They are glad to run it up their flagpole to check out transferrability. I believe they will advise that it will only be a best guess; nothing is known for sure until you actually transfer
