Notre Dame Leadership Seminar 2014

Does anyone want to make a Facebook group for this???

Yeah, go for it!

Hi everyone. I got into the Social Change seminar, but have not received the Residential Handbook yet! ND must have made a mistake when they sent me the confirmation packet… Could anyone possibly send a copy of the handbook to iamcandicezs@hotmail.com? Thanks a lot! Can’t wait to see you guys!

Uh… should be hot/mail, appended to the last thread

So if I’ve made a group, how can I share it with all of you guys?

Whats the group called?

It’s called Notre Dame Leadership Seminar 2014, everyone who’s going should join and invite other people that you know are going :)

I couldn’t find it :frowning: is it private by any chance?

It is closed, but if you search for it you should be able to ask to join or something…

@hwhat318‌ would you mind talking about your experience?

This summer program was really great, I was in the Global Issues seminar and it really reaffirmed my interest in international relations. It’s really fulfilling in that you do community service, meet esteemed professors, and all your peers are brilliant; I already know people going to Stanford, Columbia, Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, the list of amazing schools goes on.
Aside from classroom learning you’ll have a blast playing soccer, visiting Chicago, and having a real college experience. However, it was a lot of work with homework and a final presentation at the end of the week.
Initially I went to this program never having considered Notre Dame but it quickly became a top option for me. Another plus is that it’s completely free except for the application fee.
This program is considered the academic recruiting for Notre Dame but it isn’t the be all end all. My best friend got rejected from this program but he just got accepted to Notre Dame.
My advice is that you should definitely apply but don’t get down on yourself if you don’t get in. The acceptance rate is only 17%.

Thanks @hwhat318‌ ! I turned in my application last night so hopefully I’ll have good news in March. I’m not confident, though. What do you think distinguished you from the friend who didn’t get in?

@timestorms‌ when we were there they told us that there were many qualified applicants but it was the essays that were the ultimate decision makers

@hwhat318‌ thanks! i thought my first essay (the one catered to the program) was mediocre but i was rather proud of my personal one. we’ll see how this goes. favorites memories from the program?

Hi all! I know this thread is from last year but I was wondering if anyone who was accepted last year might be able to answer my question. On the 2015 Leadership thread students are saying that they have been receiving emails asking for a midyear report. Did you receive an email like this last year and if so, was it only the students who were later accepted that recieved this email? Thanks!

I echo @Avila77’s question!
