Notre Dame Leadership Seminars 2015

GC high or one of the Catholics?

Hey guys! Just wondering, if we didn’t get into the leadership seminars does that mean we wouldn’t get into Notre Dame for actual admissions? I heard that this process is indicative of the actual admissions process. Now I’m doubting myself because I wanted to apply to “better” colleges than just Notre Dame. (In no way is that a slight towards ND).

Hi everyone, I am from New Jersey and will be attending the leadership seminar this summer. Does anyone know how to complete the Health Form, Health Insurance Card, Medication Release Form, etc? I have already confirmed my attendance but I haven’t been given an option to complete any of these other forms. Are they supposed to come in the mail or something? Thanks

@jyoung8 Yeah, they’re gonna come in the mail. “Additional required forms will be mailed to you in late April.”

@slytherclaw12 not getting into this program should not mean you can’t get into ND or “better colleges”. all it suggests is you did not fit into the profile for the program. yes “stats” mattered but the program was specifically looking at DIVERSITY. I would look at STATS for incoming freshmen to ND to see if you can get in to ND or better yet use naviance if your HS has this.

Remember to fill out your confirmation forms before Monday if you are attending!

If you don’t get the forms on the portal, does it mean I didnt get in??

@tgearty15 If you were accepted, then when you open the application you should be able to see a confirmation form at the bottom of the page. You should have received a letter last month in the mail regarding your admission decision too.

Hey guys! has anyone received medical forms and such yet?

It says we’ll be getting them in late April, so I think it’s still a little early for that.

@Swinter ahh thanks, I just saw your reply to jyoung8 above haha. Which program are you in?

@case423 no worries  I’m in global issues. Have you joined the Facebook group?

No lol I don’t have a facebook

Oh lol. What seminar are you in?

Just wondering how competitive this seminar is. My friend got admitted but applied to it last-minute. She also got rejected by other summer programs.

@AsianBoyGenius From what I have read it’s fairly competitive, with about 100/820 applicants being accepted this year. People who are accepted to the seminar usually get accepted to the university. I applied two hours before the deadline, but was still accepted. They put a big focus on diversity though (ethnic/geographic/religious/socioeconomic?) so that changes things a bit. I’m pretty that’s what tipped the scale in my favor.

@Swinter I see. Is it more competitive than say, Harvard Summer School or Summer@Brown?

@AsianBoyGenius Sorry, I don’t know the answer to that. I didn’t bother looking into programs that would cost a lot of money.

@AsianBoyGenius - paid programs - especially the Harvard and Brown ones – are generally not competitive. They are just looking for full-pay students. This program, given that Notre Dame is picking up almost all of the cost of the program, is competitive. The 100/820 is a 12% acceptance rate.

@Swinter I’m in American Pop culture :slight_smile:
