^ I’m not looking to enter the fray here, but I would have to agree with picklechicken re:ND. My daughter will be a sophomore at ND next year. In her application cycle, I know of numerous legacies, with stats similar to the OP’s, who were denied. One of these was as hooked in terms of legacy as one can be. The other thing about legacy is that donor legacies are viewed somewhat more favorably than non-donors.

@ejcclc @picklechicken37 My parents do not donate that much every year. I think it’s like 500 every year which is the minimum to get football tickets. Even though this is little, do you think the fact that they donate at all will help me?

Probably not. what will help is raising your ACT, and knocking the essays, especially the ND ones, out of the park. The kids that I have seen admitted in the last few years were all a good fit for ND and were clearly able to articulate why. (This includes one who was pulled from the waitlist last week.) Also wouldn’t hurt to contact your regional rep and establish a relationship there.

@Jkotek I think the fact that you have two parents who attended Notre Dame will help, but not a ton. However, they do value legacy more than most schools.

I agree with @ejcclc in regards to focusing on the essays. The essays are very important, and Notre Dame greatly values a good fit to their school. I would start working on those in August when they are released. I never contacted my regional rep as ejcclc suggested, but it cannot hurt.

@castle027 I have been around the block, heard back from college, seen results from people I have chanced. I have more experience with the process, and post count is an indicator of that.
