Notre Dame or UNC

I applied to UNC (which is definitely my reach school) However, after doing some research I have found out that I LOVE Notre Dame. I am considering applying but I don’t wanna waste my time if I have almost no chance of getting in.
Here are my stats:

  • 4.8 GPA
  • 1330 SAT
  • lots of APs
  • volunteer at the hospital (150 hours)
  • Physical Therapy clinic mentorship
  • dance team captain
  • lots of extracurriculars and clubs
  • beta club officer position
  • NHS, spanish honors society, beta
  • High School Dance Team
  • Competitive dance outside of school
  • numerous awards (regional/state and local)

Do you think I have a better chance of getting into Notre Dame than UNC or even a chance at all?

I don’t chance but I can tell you that your SAT’s are below the 25th percentile for ND which will make it a tough admit for an unhooked applicant. https://admissions.nd.edu/apply/

Your chance of admittance for UNC will be different depending on if you are a resident or non-resident of the state. UNC can only take 18% of its freshman class from out of state. If you google UNC class profile you will get more information.

Maybe if you post what you love about these colleges, you will get suggestions on similar colleges that may be easier for admission.

They’re both reach schools, so there’s a greater probability of getting rejected for both. It’s nothing to stress over. Your acceptance letters will tell you where you go to college. Good luck

I don’t usually do chances either, but…ND is a reach. UNC is a reach if you are an OOS student or if you live in certain areas of NC (although less reachy than OOS). You have a greater chance if you are from one of the underrepresented parts of the state.
