If you take a look at my profile I have a pretty in-depth chance me on there :). So thrilled right now!
DD got waitlisted. Double legacy.
DS waitlist
DD waitlisted. Any other waitlist hear anything about being top 100. I was under the impression they did not rank waitlist.
DS waitlisted RD. It stung but he feels like the universe is pushing him to the tuition free state school for a reason. This has left him with no hope for the couple of ivies he is waiting on. Very fortunate to live in a state with great options. Best of luck to you all. It has been a wild ride. He doesn’t feel validated for all of his hard work and sacrifice. I keep reassuring him that it will pay off no matter where he lands.
Can’t speak to siblings, but my daughter is a double legacy (her father and grandfather) and got offered a spot in the Gateway program. 4.66 GPA, 12 APs, Student Council VP, 4 year Varsity soccer starter and Captain, competitive vocal performance, chaired a large fundraising event and created a few others. Tons of other ECs. Went test optional which I think is why she got Gateway and not a “regular” offer. She was heartbroken at first but we’re considering the spot now. It’s the only place she’s ever wanted to go.
We know a highly accomplished student who took the gateway offer and it was a huge success.
Daughter was accepted 35 ACT (first try), 3.9 UWGPA, Ultra competitive private HS, Student Body president, 5 AP courses (school limits the amount you can take), Attended 3 college summer programs (Brown and 2 at Wharton), 4 year sports, Started a micro lending site, works as tutor at mathnasium, plus a ton of other ECs. Sounds identical to so many of the hopeful applicants on this board. Hard to know what the difference maker was. Good luck
My son waitlisted. 4.1/1470 sat
My daughter was accepted! Engineering school majoring in chem/biochem
Rough stats: 4.7 ish weighted GPA; 8 AP’s; 1480 SAT; 4 years of both varsity swim and varsity lacrosse, captain of both teams; club lacrosse since 6th grade; club swim from 5th-9th grade; head of the yearbook; head of biomed club; NHS; Nat’l French HS; involved in several other clubs at school; won the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony award from Univ. of Rochester for her school; and worked at a local custard shop starting last summer.
DS accepted. 1580 SAT, 5.03 WGPA, lots of APs, Eagle Scout, violin, mock trial, national Latin awards, ND summer scholars, state gov school. Semifinalist for merit scholarship.
does anyone know when financial aid comes out?
As I recall the letters are sent out when they are ready, in a rolling fashion. I think that’s better than one big data release. I would guess you would see something by mid month. If not, reach out to them to check on it.
Hoping someone can help…how do you actually email with your actual admin counselor at ND? Every time my daughter has tried to email the Northeast Team (4 people!), it just goes to the generic admissions email and someone else not on the team responds with something somewhat generic. She’s never been able to actually communicate personally with anyone. All the others schools she feels like she’s had a personal “email relationship” but not ND.
Not sure if anyone has heard anything different than “we are releasing financial aid offers every day”? My problem is that I would love to see him at Notre Dame but he has an offer at another school and needs to tell them by Fri., April 15 to get into their honors college. I’ve had two other children attend and don’t remember this taking so long. We had everything submitted months ago and had no requests for more information.
I received an email last Friday with financial aid information, but haven’t received the official mailed letter yet.
Just curious - what kind of information is your DD looking for? If nothing else, try calling ND admissions. My experience is that everyone at ND is very helpful and friendly. They also appreciate when the student calls vs. a lawnmower parent (i’m guilty of this).
Yes! Agreed! She has actually called as well and is never put through to speak with any of her 4 regional counselors. To be honest, she’s just tried to develop some sort of rapport and she’s been able to do that where she has personal emails with her counselors at all her other schools of similar size and caliber and so this just feels anonymous. She was just wondering why they refer to “your regional counselor” in the website where there were instructions for the deferred and waitlisted to reach out to their regional counselor when she’s never met one, that’s all. I was just trying to figure out if others have connected or everyone is in the same boat. And so far I’ve heard from others that the same has happened to them.
Anybody else still waiting on financial aid?
Has your daughter been admitted, is she on the waiting list? What is the reason she is calling the Office of Undergraduate Admissions?
