Good luck everyone! Remember that this decision does not define you and your college experience is what you make of it, no matter where you go.
How fitting that decisions will be announced on the eve of March Madness. Have you wondered why this event has captured America? This event has bluebloods and also young, scrappy and hungry applicants. For some, their season will be a failure without a Sweet Sixteen or a Final Four. Others are thrilled just to be there. 64 will start and only one will be crowned Champion. The annual âOne Shining Momentâ video montage captures it all.
Yet isnât this like college applications? There are some underdog 13 seeds out there in the applicant pools that Vegas thinks have no shot to get good news today that will pull the upset, and a few overconfident 3 seeds that are looking past today and taking things for granted when they shouldnât be. Screams will be shouted and tears will be shed.
I wish every single applicant to Notre Dame and to all colleges the best of luck. You all got a chance to play and reach for the sky. âAnd all the years/No one knows/Just how hard you worked/ But now it shows.â
So tonight at 6:41 EST when your heart is pounding and you feel lightheaded in anticipation just let that moment sit âfrozen in timeâ for one more minute⊠feel the beat of your heartâŠ. just be grateful for the awesome years of high school and recommit to making the next 4 years your best ever. Because they will be.
There is always a next level; some of the high school superstars will fizzle in college and some of the underdogs will turn into top dogs. It is up to you and your sportsmanship and attitude about the results today can help set the path. If you are even on CC and applying to a top school then you are already in rare air.
And no matter your result, todayâs news will not determine your final story⊠If you are sobbing on the court tonight realize that there is a new season next fall. What will you do to make it your best ever? And if you won, well you will start 0-0 next fall too. And when itâs done/ Win or lose/ You always did your best/ Cuz inside you knewâŠ/ (that) one shining moment you reached deep inside/ One shining moment, you knew you were alive
Good luck to all!! Go Irish!
The ball is tipped
And there you are
Youâre running for your life
Youâre a shooting star
And all the years
No one knows
Just how hard you worked
But now it showsâŠ
(in) one shining moment, itâs all on the line
One shining moment, there frozen in time
But time is short
And the road is long
In the blinking of an eye
Ah, that momentâs gone
And when itâs done
Win or lose
You always did your best
Cuz inside you knewâŠ
(that) one shining moment you reached deep inside
One shining moment, you knew you were alive
Feel the beat of your heart
Feel the wind in your face
Itâs more than a contest
Itâs more than a raceâŠ
And when itâs done
Win or lose
You always did your best
Cuz inside you knewâŠ
(that) one shining moment, you reached for the sky
One shining moment, you knew
One shining moment, you were willing to try
One shining moment

anyone know what time decisions will be released?
I just noticed an update under the financial aid tab within my sons Admissions portal. Could this possibly mean something? This was a HUGE reach for him! It was âVerification Worksheet - Dependent Studentâ form updated as received on 3/15/19. Last previous update was on 2/15/19. Either way, happy he gave it a shot! Good luck to all.
@nancyjo67 I would not read anything into it. You will get the answer soon enough.
Decisions at 6:42pm / 18:42 ( 1842 was the year the school was established) ? good luck ? to all.
Good luck everyone and go Irish
Wait if it is 6:42 Eastern, itâll be 5:42 Central correct?
Best of luck to all of you eagerly waiting to hear back this evening. Many years ago, I was in the same boat (although they didnât have online portals then - we had to wait for letters to arrive through the sometimes clumsy postal service). It was a stressful time, but can also be a rewarding time. Within 2 months, all of you will have made your plans for your immediate future. Some will go to 4 year colleges. Others will enter a certificate program. Some may get internships and jobs. Whatever path you end up taking, know that things will work out. They always do. Donât live in fear . . . embrace the moment.
Also, since I have some background with ND from âthe insideâ (ominous music), do let me know if you have specific questions once you receive your decision letters. I may be able to clarify a few things.
Thanks and best of luck!
That is rather reassuring, thank you!
Daughter is a sophomore at ND and absolutely loving it. Best of luck to all!! But, also know you can be happy and successful at many colleges. Should it not go your way, life will go on and you may look back and be thankful for âunanswered prayersâ as we call them!
less than an hour to go!
Please keep in mind potential ND admission decision outcomes today: Admit, Deny, Waitlist or Gateway program offer. There will be around 30 RD Gateway slots and a noticeable number of Waitlist decisions. Very best of luck and success to all applicants and their parents!
@hpcsa, what are the odds of getting off the waitlist? Is it basically the same as a deny for 99% of those waitlisted?
Thank you.
@RFM1617 You possibly might find in this respect the following official Notre Dame information of interest: https://admissions.nd.edu/connect/news/the-waiting-list/
i would be shocked if i got in , but you never know
@hpcsa Really helpful. Thank you.
