My mother thinks that my application will be given less consideration because I just submitted it today. The deadline for Notre Dame RD is January first. Is there any truth to what my mother thinks? Do I still have a chance to get accepted?

No truth. As long as you timely apply and submit necessary materials, you will be considered on the same level during RD as anyone else who applies by the deadline. I believe it was a Caltech admission’s officer who once said if the college disfavored those who applied on the last dayor day before, it would likely have to reject 65% of all applicants just on that basis.

thank you!

Don’t worry. Trust me: there are kids pulling all nighters (er, maybe half-nighters??) to get to the January 1st deadline. You are a full 16 days ahead, which I think is quite good!! Good luck to you It shows initiative on your part that you got everything together early.
